Let´t talk about "textured"... a step by step tutorial

Dear Blogger fellows,

I have been ask several time how I do my textured background. I don´t want to keep you in incertitude any longer and will explain today, step by step,  how I have been doing it...

1. In my opinion textured needs some solid basic... so choose your basic well.

2. Paint the background with acrylic paint (black or white) it will lightly shine through your project.

3. After the Paint is completely dry you can now add your Texture ( I have been using Marabu light structure past, but Americana texturizing Medium or any similar texture paste would work)

4. Now it´s time to structure your project...: So I have been using stencil and stamps to bring some 3D effect on my card.

5. Let it best try for 24 hours before you start to colour it

and here are some example how it looks like depending what colour you using:
coloured with Glimmer Mist

coloured with alcohol ink and blending solution

coloured with cupper gilding wax

painted with Acrylics and added some leaf of gold metal flakes

I really hope you did enjoy my first tutorial and looking very much forward to see some of your textured Project maybe on our STEAMPUNK CHALLENGE which starts tomorrow ... gosh so exited about it!
Thank you for watching my blog and your comments.

XOXO

Steampunk treat for the week-end

My Dear Follower,

almost one year ago in a ATC Trade Platform I get to know die amelie. First we just traded ATC or had some technique Discussion,  but over the month we become friends and started to sent each other some Cards or Gifts or any other RAK.

I do like to put "die amelie" today in my blog in a spotligh, since she is a very very oustanding, talented and very nice person --  I like her a lot :-) --

I am delighted to share with you the most beatiful Card I have received from her in 2012.
So here is YOUR Steampunk treat for the week-end.

What you you think?
I hope you like it as much as I do.

Have a wonderful week-end

ATC Trade

My dear follower,

I do love to trade Artit Trade Cards (ATC)!
I just got this passion for ATC nearly one year ago and I am addicted to trade.

For those who doesn´t know what ATC is all about please allow me to explain:
Artist trading cards (or ATCs) are miniature works of art  (2 1/2 inch by 3 1/2inch or 63mm x 89mm)  some kind of artist basketball cards you swap / trade around the world.

This Cards are produced in various media, including dry media (pencils, pens, markers, etc.), wet media (watercolor, acrylic paints, etc.), paper media (in the form of collage, papercuts, found objects, etc.) or even metals,  cloth and any textures. There is no limit!

The simple way to trade this work of art is to join a Trade Platform such as
Flickr or AFA or FwATCs (mainly German) just to name a few.

So here are my two ATCs I have done for a open Swap on AFA.
And Marilou I mail them today!

Hope you like it - thank you for watching!

About Sherlock Holmes

Sherlock is a brand new BBC addaptation of the Novel from Sir Arthur Conan Doyle´s Sherlock Holmes
In stars Benedict Cumberbatch  (Star Trek, Into Darkness)
Benedict Cumberbatch
as Sherlock Holmes and on this Tag,{ :-) below} as well as Martin Freeman ( The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey) as Doctor John Watson.  BBC aspired to produce a modern-day version where Sherlock uses the technologies that are available to him today in order to find things out and solve crime.
I have always been a vey big fan of the version of Arthur Conan Doyle´s Sherlock Holmes but have to admit that this version is just fabulous. And what I like most is that the Producer of this BBC Series try to keep as much as possible from the original sricpt of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle´s Novel. Great Job - Hat´s up!

Isn´t it a wonderful reason to create a Tag?
Hope you like it.

I do like to take the opportunity to say thank you to  my new follower!
Anke, Valerie, Jeannette, die amelie and Rosie.

Thank you all for watching my Blog!
